Eating Right Despite Today's Frantic Schedules
The fact is our diets are so poor due to the lifestyles we choose to live, with fast foods and rush, rush, rush, we are not allowing our bodies to rebuild itself, to repair itself properly, as it was designed to do. The idea is to identify the good foods and substitute them for the bad foods you currently consume in quantity. All of us have bad foods we naturally gravitate towards (those high in fat and sugar) and we all have some good foods (high in protein) that we like. Nutrients In today?s fast-paced world most people don?t get enough of nutrients through the food they eat. When a well-designed diet doesn?t work, people turn to the help of some type of nutrition supplement or supplements. Calcium is one of the nutrients most likely to be lacking in the American diet. Lowfat and fat free milk have the same nutrients as whole milk but with benefit of having little or no fat. Obesity is another problem in some parts of the world. Metabolism is the rate at which your body breaks down the nutrients in food to produce energy. Although it's clear different macro nutrients in different amounts and ratios have different effects on weight loss, fat loss, and other metabolic effects, calories do matter. Fad diets can be unhealthy because they may not provide all of the nutrients your body needs. If you have a problem with too much weight, ask your health professional what they recommend. Being overweight definitely has a negative affect on your health. Sugar You?ll be shocked to check out the sodium and sugar content on the majority of conventional food products. Processed sugar and flour also work to the detriment of the digestive system. It is always a health benefit to reduce your sugar intake as low as you can stand it. Start by cutting out sodas and candy. For most people, just cutting out those two items would be a big improvement. Organic How often do you choose healthy choices in your daily lifestyle, such as eating organic fruits, vegetables, dairy and meats? It is less expensive to buy organic foods and shop for most items at a health food store than it is to buy candy, soda, chips, pizza, alcohol, and cigarettes. Organic milk is at least double the cost of non-organic, but the benefits are tremendous. Cows on certified organic dairies are not giving hormones, antibiotics, or any other harmful product. They are healthier, live longer, and are treated much better than cows on non-organic dairies. Antioxidant There are natural antioxidants, but most people rely on supplements. Antioxidants help our systems fight free radicals which cause aging and various diseases. Antioxidants are especially important if you are under a lot of stress or living in an area with air pollution. Due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, ginkgo biloba is suggested for elderly conditions such as memory loss, depression, headaches and general deterioration of mental health Every one of us has what may be called our antioxidant protective capacity. To fight the damage, the plant's cells use up their antioxidant stores, leaving less for you to eventually consume. Conclusion Purchasing organic foods and dairy products, eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, drastically reducing your intake of sugar and salt, keeping your weight at a healthy level, and including supplements in your diet are ways that you can reduce the harmful effects of a lifestyle where you are always on the go.
